MICHAEL BURKS
Michael "Ironman" Burks came and sat on The Couch. Michael earned his nickname from the way he attacks his guitar and the long sets he gives to his fans. We sat and discussed his career and where he is heading. We discussed last years King Biscuit, which is where I first saw Michael. Along the way, we listened to tracks from his latest album Iron Man.
ERIN DICKENS - Segment Begins At The 47:50 Mark
Erin Dickins was a founding member of the great vocal group The Manhattan Transfer. She has an incredible vocal talent and is back after a hiatus. We talked about Erin's journey beginning as a child up until today and got to here tracks from her solo album Nice Girls.

JOHN-ALEX MASON
From Colorado comes the sounds of World Boogie from the most excellent John-Alex Mason. Before coming to Memphis to perform on his way to the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, MS, John-Alex took the time to sit with me and discuss his career. We talked about his youth and how music came into his life, how he began performing when he moved to Vermont and his journey to Europe and the east coast of the US before heading back to Colorado. We also got to listen to tracks from the album Juke Joint Thunderclap and took some calls from fans.
THE SUGAR PROPHETS - Segment Begins At The 50:10 Mark
The Sugar Prophets hail from Illinois and this line-up has only been together for 18 months or so, but that did not stop them from causing a buzz at this years International Blues Challenge. The band caused such a stir, they ended up in the finals! I got to sit with Josh and A.J. from the band and talked about their youth, how they got into the blues and how the band came together. We also listened to tracks from their Self-Titled debut album.

REVEREND ROBERT
Reverend Robert - Bobby Reynolds - has had an interesting career. From hard rock to punk to the sounds of the 20's and 30's, he is now a master of the pre-war blues and the styles of those two decades. Robert joined me and we chatted about his life and career and where he is heading now. he spoke of his upcoming album and we heard cuts from his 2009 release Preachin Blues.
BIG JON SHORT - Segment Begins At The 45:00 Mark
Jon Short came to us through our good friend Brandon Santini who cut an album with Jon a few years back.
Jon is a wonderful man who plays great delta-style blues when not teaching in the public schools of Worcester, MA. Jon also runs the Blues In The Schools program in Worcester. His latest album is entitled Big Shorty and it is chock full of some great acoustic blues.
