We began with a visit from Sonia Outlaw-Clark talking about this year’s Exit 56 Blues Festival, which is held in Brownsville, TN on Memorial Day weekend. we spoke about the music and other events around the weekend and the fact that this year, the festival is 2 days.

DENNIS JONES - Segment Begins At The 11:50 Mark
Dennis was a part of the Zac Harmon Band that won the 2004 International Blues Challenge. Since then he has been a fixture on the West Coast Blues Scene, has been a judge for the IBC and a presenter at the BMAs. His new album is entitled Both Sides Of The Track, and we talked about his life and career while we listened to tunes.

JOYANN PARKER & SWEET TEA - Segment begins At The 51:00 Mark
Joyann and Mark LeMoine joined me to talk about this band out of Minnesota. They represented the MN Blues Society at the 2016 IBC. We talked about how they each got to 2013 when the band was formed, how the band reacted to the IBC and more.

Markey & Ric came back with Couch Kid New Music of the best kind – WORLD PREMIER! The new album is entitled The Blues Are Knockin’, the follow up to their sensational debut, Hey Hey. We played a bunch of songs while we talked about the making of the album and the places they are heading.

BROTHERS BROWN - Segment begins At The 48:15 Mark
Co-founders LA Paul & Brother paul took their seats on the couch to discuss their careers and how they came together in the Brotherhood of music they have formed. After just meeting in 2014, they released Dusty Road earlier this year.
KING LOUIE & LA RHONDA STEELE - Segment Begins At The 1:32:30 Mark
These two wonderful Northwest Musicians came to The Couch via Greg “Slim Lively” Johnson. King Louie, LaRhonda and I talked about their lives and careers and coming together to record the great album, Rock Me Baby.

Finally, a couple of weeks before its official release date, but not quite a World Premier my buds from Tweed Funk came by to hang and tell us all about the new release, Come Together. Bassist Erix Madunic and new drummer Dave Schoepke joined me. We also discussed the recent news about Smokey and how the band is planning on dealing with it and supporting their brother.

SHAUN MURPHY - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC
Shaun returned to The Couch to share her latest release It Won’t Stop Raining. Shaun has brought the Blues out in full-force on this one. We talked about the making of this album and her plans for the future including her next album and touring.
PETER KARP - Segment Begins At The 45:00 Mark
Peter has released The Arson’s Match, a live concert in NYC where his long-time friend and collaborator Mick Taylor participated. The result is something incredibly special. Peter and I talked about his journey, this album which was recorded some 10 years ago and his dedication to Ovarian Cancer Research. 100% of the sales of his album is donated to the Fund.
JEFF CHAZ - Segment Begins At The 1:32:00 Mark
Jeff sat with us during the IBC Preview shows this past January and he has just released his latest album, Sounds Like The Blues To Me. We went a little deeper into Jeff's history and spoke about his plans for this album and beyond.

Sandy released Last Southern Belle back in February. It has a more country flavor about it, so I never received a copy. I told Sandy, doesn’t matter what some call it, if it is Sandy Carroll music, it belongs on The Couch. We had a great chat about her moving home and the feelings it brought to the surface for Sandy...the result is Last Southern Belle.
