From My Original Posting:
Gino Matteo is a young man with an incredible knowledge and respect for the past; a true student of life. Gino's performances are spontaneous, explosive, and original- a triple threat to the music world. Gino is the definition of an "old soul" with a voice as smooth as velvet but tough as nails. I sat with Gino and we discussed his journey and the many mentors he had along the way. We also discussed his latest release, Sweet Revelation on the Rip Cat label.
From My Original Posting:
Jade Bennett & Couch Kid Gino Mateo have joined forces and the result is an album of blues, soul and funk…What a fun interview, and the music on Shake The Roots is superb.

Show #204 - Originally Aired 02/09/2014
From My Original Posting:
Annika Chambers has begun to take the Blues World by storm and if you do not know her...YOU WILL SOON!
She was named 2013 Houston Press - Best Female Vocalist, her debut album Making My Mark, has created a buzz about this talented woman and during the IBC she introduced herself to the Blues World in a big way.
Annika and I spoke about how she found the blues while serving in the military and falling in love with the genre. We also discussed how the album went from a demo to a full-scale album.
But before she appeared on THE COUCH, she joined me 17 days prior at Rum Boogie Cafe during IBC Week...Both Chats Are Here!

Since the interview, I was honored to WORLD PREMIER of Wild & Free in 2016 and she also returned in 2019 for Kiss My Sass and most recently, she and her Love & Partner, Paul Deslauriers (he a 2X Couch Kid), joined me for their album, Good Trouble, in 2022.

From My Original Posting:
Brandon Santini has been working the clubs of Memphis for the last few years and has a new backing band with a new energy. We spoke to Brandon about his start in the music business back in North Carolina, how he and his former partner got to Memphis and their time together here. We explored the breakup and the new band and their plans moving forward.

Since this interview, Brandon graced me 4 more time, 2 of those being World Premiers; 2013's "This Time Another Year", and 2015's "Live & Extended". I have had the honor to host his "Beale Street Mess Around" in 2013, 2014 & 2015.

Please send Brandon your best as he recovers from a recent surgery.
