BEAN BLOSSOM BLUES FEST
Grant Stuart, Organizer of the Festival, came by to talk about the hstory of "The Bean" and this year's event. We talked about the music and all the activities that are available to those who come to Indiana to celebrate on August 28 and 29. The Bean is a Music On The Couch Festival partner.

David last joined me back on August 25, 2014 for Show #232, when we discussed his career and the album Poisons Sipped. Tonight he brought his latest release Same Soil and we dove deep into the songs on the album and what David has been working on since he was first here. This is a stellar release for this fine musician from upstate New York.
AMY BLACK - Segment Begins At The 1:18:06 Mark
Amy was born in Missouri, moved to Alabama, where her folks were form and then moved to Boston at 15. She always loved to sing, but after college she went into business. Fast forward 8 years and her desires got her back onto stages and into the studio. The latest result is The Muscle Shoals Sessions and it has put Amy out on the road touring the US to new fans every night. She and I spoke about her journey and her desires andwe played music from this great new release.
DEXTER ALLEN - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - Segment Begins At The 2:06:45 Mark
Dexter first joined me back on 06/02/14 for SHow #220. Tonight he returned with his latest album Triology Of My Bluez and we talked about the music on the album, his being a Mississippi Roster Artist, working with Bobby Rush and so much more. Of course we shared some songs off the new album, which should get Dexter even more notice in the Blues world.

STEVE ARVEY - Steve got his true beginning in the Blues in Florida during his college years. He and his band ended up backing Bo Diddley for a few years. He then returned to Chicago where he backed musicians such as Hubert Sumlin, Jimmy Rogers, and others. He eventually ended up back in Florida and now performs as a solo artist and with his band The Delta Swamp Rats. Steve had some great stories to tell and explained his dedication to the artform and what he hopes to do next.
ROY ROGERS - Segment Begins At The 47:55 Mark
Roy Rogers is one of the preeminent slide guitarists performing the Blues today. He began playing in a band at age 13 and has not stopped performing since then. He received his first Handy Award nomination in 1985 and has played with John Lee Hooker for 4 years in the 80’s. Throughout the years he has performed with Miles Davis, Taj Mahal and Norton Buffalo among others. His new album is entitled Into The Wild Blue. We spoke about what he learned from John Lee and his style of slide and his musical thoughts.
LISA MANN - Segment Begins At The 1:34:40 Mark
Lisa Mann began her time in West Virginia, but now calls Portland and the Northwest her home. She is a talented bass guitar player as shown by her 2015 Blues Music Award Win for Instrumentalist Bass, and is also a fabulous vocalist. Her new album is entitled Move On. We talked about her desire to play bass from early on, the struggles she went through a few years back and how her career has exploded since then.

Ted Drozdowski returns with his new Scissormen album, Love & Life. The album will be released on July 31st along with Ted's first e-book. Ted and I discussed the album, the recording of it with the many overdubs and also chatted about the book.

Southern Halo has only appeared on the IBC Shows, but we said the ladies could come by and share some exciting news. Natalia Morris, Christina Morris and Hannah Morris talked about their new album, they're moving more toward country music and their upcoming performance in Memphis at The Pepsi Pavilion in Handy Park.
ARTHUR JAMES - Segment Begins At The 24:38 Mark
Arthur James makes his Monday debut on Music On The Couch. The singer, songwriter has come by during IBC show and now has a new album entitled Me, Myself and I, so it was time to make him a real Couch Kid. We talked about his incredible journey as a Bluesman, the different folks he has performed with and shared music from the new album.
KERN PRATT - Segment Begins At The 1:09:20 Mark
I met Kern Pratt last year at the Vicksburg Local Blues Challenge. We had a nice chat and he promised to stay in touch when he had his new album ready. Well the album is out and getting some great airplay and press so Kern took his seat on The Couch. We explored the road he has taken from the Mississippi Delta to playing at festivals around the country and recording his new album Broken Chains.
JOHN GINTY - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - Segment Begins At The 1:58:14 Mark
John first sat on The Couch back in October of 2013 on Show # 185 when he released Bad News Travels. He returned tonight and we talked about what he has been up to since then and also explored the music and recording of his latest release No Filter. There were some issues with my sound, but John's was crystal.
