SPENCER MacKENZIE - Segment Begins At The 13:30 Mark
Spencer has been performing in the Southern Ontario region for a number of years. In 2013 he came to Memphis for the IBC Youth Showcase. He has released his debut album, Infected By The Blues, and Spencer and I talked about the music and where he is headed. OH, did I mention, Spencer is ONLY 16!
MARK MAY - Segment Begins At The 49:10 Mark
Mark has released his 6th album entitled Blues Heaven. It is the guitarists’ debut on the Conner Ray Music label. After spending time with Dickey Betts & Great Southern, May is back out sharing his unique guitar skills with audiences from coast to coast. Mark and I talked about his career and the new music.
CLINT MORGAN - Segment Begins At The 1:34:30 Mark
Clint released his debut in 2008. His sophomore effort, Scofflaw, was released on June 17th and Clint came by to sit on The Couch and talk about his career, how the Blues found him, his mentoring at the Pinetop Perkins Foundation Workshops and, of course, the new album and music.

BIG JON ATKINSON - Segment Begins At The 49:00 Mark
Then I sat with Jon and we talked about his life and musical journey. We traced how the Tennessee native ended up in California playing with folks like Nathan James and Kim Wilson and Bob Corritore. Our conversation also covered Jon's 'old soul' for the music he loves and his hope for his generation. We also listened to some songs from his Boogie With You Baby album.

JOHN LONG - Segment begins At The 1:31:54 Mark
John has been sharing his Blues talent since the early 70’s when he found himself in Chicago. It took until 2006 for him to get a national album release and it immediately got him noticed with a BMA nomination. What has the road been like since then? We talked about his journey, the people he met and played with along the way and his musical philosophy while we listened to music from the new album, Stand Your Ground.

I reached out to Endland to speak with Helen Turner and Iain Black formally of Bare Bones Boogie Band, now leading Born Healer. Their debut album, 'Til The Dawn, proves their Blues pedigree once again. As always, a great time speaking with these two wonderful musicians. We talked about the Blues scene in England and why there are no Blues Socities sending bands to the IBC - we never got that one figured out!
