Music On The Couch will be on-site for the third year, web casting on Friday & Saturday and I will also be acting as Stage Emcee throughout the Fest.

Beth McKee became a Couch Kid back in back in June of 2011. Tonight, she brought her new album, the just released Sugarcane Revival to the Couch and we spoke with her about what has been going on in her life and the music on the album.

Ray Goren brought his EP Save My Soul to share. Ray originally sat with me as part of the Generation Blues Band with Jamie “Bluesboy” Powell in October 2014. Jamie passed shortly after their appearance and Ray is continuing with the lessons he learned from his mentor and friend. We talked about the continuation of Generation Blues Experience and Ray's bands and what he is reaching for in his future.

GENERATION BLUES SILENT AUCTION SHOW
Back in January at the Tas Cru Jam for Generation Blues on Tuesday night of IBC Week,
Don Hudson won the auction to co-host a show and select two guests for the evening. He selected James Armstrong and John Nemeth. Tonight was the show and what a show it turned out to be! Both James & John were Couch Kids already, but to have them both together was a treat. Don did a great job as a co-host and there were laughs galore throughout the show! Hear James' ghost story...hear John talk about an incident with a drummer..no two drummers! hear them both talk about the great clubs and the not so great clubs experienced on the road.

BART WALKER - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - Segment begins At The 51:00 Mark
Bart became a Couch Kid on Show #153 on 3/4/13. He recently joined the lineup of The Royal Southern Brotherhood and Don’t Look Back is his first album with the band. We spoke about his joining the band, the ease with which he and Cyrll began writing together and going to Fame Studios to record with Tom Hambridge begind the board.

SUGARAY RAYFORD - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Sugaray is an immense man with an even bigger talent. Show #184 on 10/21/13 is when we met Sugaray and since then he has just taken the Blues world by storm the last few years and his new album, Southside is just SMOKIN’! Sugaray called in from a rest area somewhere in Oregon and we laughed and spoke about his continuous schedule of touring, his desire to spend more time in the US for the fans and the songs on the new album. He also spoke of Randy Chortoff and what he emant to Sugaray and others.

DELTA MOON - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Tom Johnson and Mark Gray first came onto The Couch for IBC Preview Show #139 on 1/7/13. They gave some great advice to the Challengers that year and also spoke about how Delta Moon came to be. Tonight they return to talk about their latest release, Low Down. Tom and Mark talked about the album, their touring, the writing of thier music and more.

MALAYA BLUE - COUCH KID NEWS
Malaya first sat on The Couch on Show # 216 on 04/28/14. She returned this evening to talk about the new Double A Side single she released on Sunday, June 21st at Blues On The Farm. These are the first two songs that will be included on her next album, which should be released next year. The songs are "Hope" and "Let's Reinvent (Love)". We spoke about her writing, the process she is taking for the new album and we heard the track "Hope".
JUKE ROCKETS BLUES BAND - Segment Begins At The 17:37 Mark
The band is Carlene Thornton on vocals, Tim Woitowitz on drums, Steve Mellor on bass and Ron Casillo on guitar and they have represented the Maine Blues Society at the IBC twice before and will be returning in 2016. Their new album is Hungry Soul and we spoke about their background, forming the band and the creation of the album.
ILANA KATZ KATZ - Segment Begins At The 57:50 Mark
Ilana came to The Couch from Anne Harris, who came to The Couch from Jeff Jensen. I LOVE how those things work! Ilana is a fiddle player whose music is firmly rooted in the sound of Appalachian Music with generous helpings of Blues, Roots, Americana, Country and Jazz. Her album is entitled I Have Something To Tell You and features, among others the great Ronnie Earl. We spoke about her meeting Lonnie Mack, touring with John Lee Hooker and so many others. We also talked about her writing and her painting.
NANCY WRIGHT - Segment begins At The 1:46:10 Mark
Nancy reached out to me on her own and sent me her newest album, Putting Down Roots. We then met in Memphis during BMA week. The album is a great collection of instrumentals and vocals and Nancy just kills it on Sax. She and I explored her long, illustrious road and where she is heading.
FRANC ROBERT - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - Segment Begins At The 2:26:40 Mark
Franc returns for his third visit to The Couch. This time to share the new album with his band The Box Car Tourists. The band has been restructured and the music is just brilliant. Franc and I spoke about the last 15 months since his last visit on Show # 214. We talked about the new band and we discussed why I was mispronouncing his name!

The Calgary BluesFest is a partner of Music On The Couch this year and Cindy McLeod, Producer of the festival came by to talk about the weeklong celebration and the fantastic music lineup they have for attendees this year.
MICK KOLASSA - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - WORLD PREMIER

Mick's orignal appearance on The Couch was for an IBC Show and we World Premiered Michissippi Mick on Show # 195. Now his new album "Ghosts Of The Riverside Hotel" will be released in the next few weeks, but tonight he allowed us to premier some of the songs and talked about the creation of his new gem.
VOO DAVIS - Segment Begins At The 1:00:40 Mark
Voo hails from Chicago by way of Alabama and those cultural influences make a strong appearance in his music. Voo & I discussed his journey in music, his time away from touring and his return and the release of his three albums. The latest is Midnight Mist and we chatted about the recording of the album and heard some of the songs.

I met Johnny when he visited during my live shows at the IBC in January. Since then, he has released Crossroads Of My Life and he and I talked about how he arrived at this point in his musical career. Johnny is a straight shooter and shared with us some interesting stories.

Rusty also spoke about his desire to push his music in new directions at all times, and they both spoke of their upcoming move to Florida
