Tim Langford honors Music On The Couch with the World Premier of the new album, Blood Moon. The album is not available until March 18th. Tim and I talked about getting back into the studio for this one, his overall health and the bright future for he and the band.

CECILE DOO-KINGUE
Cecile is a NY gal, who lived in France and settled in Montreal Canada. She has mastered her craft over the years and in 2015 she released Anybody Listening Part 1: Monologues. It earned her multiple Maple Blues Award Nominations. In January she released Anybody Listening Part 2: Dialogues. Cecile and I spoke about her career and her reasons for beginning the Is Anybody Listening Trilogy.
JIMMI & THE BAND OF SOULS - Segment Begins At The 45:30 Mark
Out of the Minnesota area the band represented the Minnesota Blues Society at the 2015 IBC. They recently released album #4, The Graveyard Shift to much anticipation. I spoke with Jimmi, Nate and Jay about their young lives and the roads they each took to 2009 when the band was formed.

Dave has released his latest album, The Dave Muskett Acoustic Band - Live At The Slipepry Noodle Inn. Dave and I spoke about his last IBC experience, the opportunity to record this album at the Noodle, which is a second home for Dave and so much more. Great album, great guy.

BALKUN BROTHERS - Segment Begins At The 49:50 Mark
Steve and Nick Balkun took their seats on The Couch. Coming to the Blues World attention in 2014 at the International Blues Challenge, the brothers have built a reputation for powerful shows. Their latest release on the French label, Dixiefrog Records, is simply titled Balkun Brothers. We talked about how they journeyed to this point in time, their relationship with Papa Chubby, the new album and more.

Jordan returned with his completed album, The Back On Track Recording Project. Jordan joined me back in September of 2014 when he released an EP preview of this album. We talked about what caused the delay in the release, the musicians he gathered to record and the changes he made to the songs released on the EP.
R.B. STONE - COUCH KID NEW MUSIC - Segment Begins At The 2:08:20 Mark
R.B. first sat on The Couch in March of 2013. He has stopped by during IBC shows since then, but this is his first return to talk Couch Kid New Music and his release Some Call It Freedom (Some Call It The Blues). R.B. wrote and produced this album and he and I talked about the difference for this album and the songs and so much more.

IN LAYMAN TERMS – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC – WORLD PREMIER
Cole and his sister Logan Layman are long time Couch Kids. We met them a few years back when they were in the Youth Showcase with their other project, The unXpected, at the International Blues Challenge. This year they adding mom Sandy on drums allowed them to compete in the IBC as a band. Now, the Full-Length Album, Get Tangled is ready for release and they honored us by allowing Music On The Couch to Premier it! We spoke about the album, the recording process and Cole’s plans after graduation.
THE DELGADO BROTHERS – Segment Begins At The 45:00 Mark
The Delgado’s have been making music for about 30 years in the Los Angeles area. This past January, they came to Memphis representing the Ventura County Blues Society and walked away as winners in the Band Challenge. Guitarist Joey was also named Gibson Guitar Player for the Challenge. Joey joined me and we talked about the band’s history…their constant desire to “keep it real”, which caused some struggles and their new popularity while we listened to music from 2009’s Learn To Fly.
BILLY PRICE – Segment Begins At The 1:34:00 Mark
Billy has been entertaining fans with his distinctive vocals for decades. He was vocalist on two albums with the great Roy Buchanan and has led his own band since 1990. Last year he released This Time For Real with the late Otis Clay and the album is up for a BMA Nomination. Bob Margolin suggested I bring Billy on when he appeared back in February. What a wonderful chat about his growing up in the music and his time with Otis and Duke Robillard in the studio.

I think it is so cool that Couch Kids suggest other artists…it means so much to me. Ilana recently released her new album, Movin’ On, and we talked about the recording of the album around the country, her time in Memphis during the IBC and more.
