Halley returns to The Couch with her new EP, Keep On Playin’ , the long awaited follow-up to Fabbo! Boffo! Smasho! The five original tunes are described as “…balls to the wall, Blues Funk Rock with a splash of Swampeloo” Halley and I talked about the things going on in her life and what is coming next. Always a hoot with Halley…and the music is fantastic!

The band has a new album, Hot Sauce and like its name it is HOT! Jon & Andy came by and we spoke about the songs as we listened and the guys spoke about where the band is now and some things to come.

Sunday & Reno have a new album and we got to share it with y’all tonight! The album is entitled Two and it doesn’t drop until the 15th. We spoke about the recording of the album, their plans for the rest of 2017 and some insight into their 2018.

FORREST McDONALD – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Forrest has released his 13th album, Stand My Ground a collection of 12 originals and 1 cover that prove, once again, that Forrest should be on more people’s lists. He came by with Becky Wright who has taken the lead vocals over for the band and Forrest could not have found a better person for the job!

THIRD ANNUAL "STATE OF THE BLUES/TOWN HALL"
Joined this year by President CEO Barbara Ballin Newman, out-going Board Chair Paul Benjamin and in-coming Board Chair Jeff Syracuse. The discussion ranged from IBC to BMA to Membership and affiliate growth. The three also gave their outlook on the future and we discussed recent changes to both the IBC and the BMA.

Regina Bonelli came by with her new single, "Don’t You Put Your Hands On Me". We caught up with this talented vocalist and will have her back when the entire album is completed.
VINTAGE #18 – Segment Begins At The 14:20 Mark
D.C.-based Soul-Blues band Vintage #18 have performed together since 2013. In 2016 they represented the Central Virginia Blues Society at the IBC. Their new album is entitled Grit and spoke to the band about their journeys, how they came together and where they are going from here.
HEATHER GILLIS – Segment Begins At The 51:00 Mark
Heather is the complete package as a guitar player, lap steel player, songwriter, singer and arranger. In 2015 she was drafted by Butch Trucks to be a member of his touring band. She and I talked about her early years and how the guitar ended up in her hands.
GEOFF ACHISON – Segment Begins AT The 1:33:00 Mark
Geoff is out of Australia and has been working the Blues since the 80’s. He has released Another Mile, Another Minute and we sat and chatted about his remarkable career and his upcoming US Tour.
BENNY TURNER – COUCH KID NEW MUSIC

Benny has just released his new album, My Brother's Blues, a collection of 11 songs that Benny’s brother, Freddie King performed and made famous. Benny and I talked about these songs and their meaning to him and we also discussed the next album.
